Peter Monahan has been promoted to teaching professor.

Monahan has been with the College Writing Program for many years, including working as a lecturer and assistant director before taking over as director.

Jen Smith, dean of Arts & Sciences, said, "This is incredibly well deserved; his dedication-- to [College Writing], to the goals of the program, to the diverse students whom [they] educate—is unmatched. It has been a privilege and a pleasure – both personally and professionally—to be able to work with Peter over the last years.  He cares so deeply and thinks so comprehensively about all aspects of his work; and that care comes through in all his actions."
