On November 6, Writing Identity and the College Writing Program hosted Researching Identity: A panel discussion.
The event was moderated by College Writing Lecturer Tarrell Campbell, and panelists included: Casey O’Callaghan, Professor of Philosophy and Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology; Trevor Sangrey, Senior Lecturer in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; Jeffrey McCune, Associate Professor of Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies and of African and African-American Studies; Cynthia Barounis, Lecturer in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; Patrick Hill, Associate Professor of Psychological & Brain Sciences; and J. Dillon Brown, Associate Professor of English.
After discussing the influence their backgrounds have had on their research, the panelists gave tips, advice and insights on conducting and writing academic research. They also answered audience questions, including their thoughts on how identity is both viewed and changed by society.
