    Jen Meyer advises and teaches at the Sam Fox School of Art and Architecture where she leads the professional practice program, and is a lecturer in the College Writing Program.

    Jen Logan Meyer advises and teaches at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts where she leads the professional practices program for undergraduate and graduate art and design students, and is a lecturer in the College Writing Program, teaching in the “Place and Perspective” theme. She was recently named Associate Director, Arts, Design & Media Career Community at the Center for Career Engagement.

    Meyer’s work has appeared and is forthcoming in The Sewanee Review, the Alaska Quarterly ReviewThe Los Angeles Reviewdecember magazineHobart, and other publications. In addition to short fiction, she also writes for artist catalogs and portfolios and works with visual artists and designers on collaborative projects. She received her MFA in Fiction at the Bennington Writing Seminars and is at work on both a story collection and a novel.

    College Writing: Place & Perspective

    Place & Perspective is a writing course featuring readings on the subject of our environments, whether social communities, physical spaces, or even virtual realities. We will consider how place-based thinking thrives across academic fields, from design thinking in art to systems science in engineering, from environmental policy in business to ethnographic writing in anthropology, to name a few possibilities.
