Laura Evers

Laura Evers is a fourth-year PhD student and a participant in the Film and Media Studies certificate program. She serves as an Associate Editor for RHINO, a poetry journal based in Chicago, and helps edit the Poetry for All podcast hosted by Abram Van Engen and Joanne Diaz. Her research focuses on the genre of the American campus novel and documentary poetics. She taught a writing composition course entitled “Opera in the World” to students at the Cleveland Institute of Music and also taught in northeastern Romania as a Fulbright Scholar. At WashU, she’s a graduate student affiliate at the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity, a member of the Center for Teaching and Learning’s Graduate Student Advisory Council, and she’s on the Advisory Council for the Student Sunrise Project. In St. Louis she’s a consultant for the edtech startup Pivto Digital Learning. Her creative work can be found or is forthcoming in The Georgia Review, Chicago Review of Books, The Rumpus, Public Poetry, Overheard Literary Magazine, Whale Road Review, and the Cleveland Review of Books.
