    Sara Brenes Akerman has an MFA in Fiction from NYU and an MA in English and American Literature from Washington University in St. Louis. Her areas of interest include Shakespeare in performance, New York City history and Latin American fiction. She teaches the Place & Perspective theme of College Writing and serves as Senior Tutor at The Writing Center.

    College Writing: Place & Perspective

    Place & Perspective is a writing course featuring readings on the subject of our environments, whether social communities, physical spaces, or even virtual realities. We will consider how place-based thinking thrives across academic fields, from design thinking in art to systems science in engineering, from environmental policy in business to ethnographic writing in anthropology, to name a few possibilities.
