Tamara Taylor

Tamara Baker Taylor, Ph.D. teaches college writing. She has also taught literature courses on Women’s Texts and an Introduction to Women and Gender Studies. Her dissertation, Species of the Sun's Making: Reading Light, Proust to Merrill explores poetry and prose fixated on transitory visual phenomena, particularly on the dynamics of light and color that shape subjectivity; from golden words to blue memories, the "color of time" illuminates how we comprehend our world and ourselves. Her research interests range from Romanticism to Modernism and include gender studies, science, philosophy, and religious studies. Originally from Idaho, she has lived in St. Louis with her husband J.D. since 2001. They enjoy a busy life with their three children, two cats, and one dog.
